Cleaning & Maintenance
- First 24 Hours:
- Keep the brow area clean and dry. Avoid applying any creams or water on the brows.
- Gently blot the area with a clean tissue to remove lymph fluid.
- After 24 Hours (Day 2 onward):
- Wash Hands: Always wash your hands before touching your brows.
- Gentle Cleansing: Every four hours, use a Q-tip dipped in sterile water to gently clean the brow area.
- After cleaning, pat dry with a clean tissue.
- Antibacterial Cream Application: After drying, apply a thin layer of antibacterial cream using a clean Q-tip.
- Frequency: Repeat cleaning and cream application every four hours for 5 days, then twice daily until fully
healed.
Healing Phases: What to Expect
- Day 1: Brows appear bold, dark, and slightly swollen/red.
- Days 2-4: Brows may become darker with thin scabs forming.
- Days 5-7: Flaking and peeling begin; brows may look patchy or lighter.
- Days 8-14: Peeling should finish, and color will gradually return.
- After 4-6 Weeks: True color is visible; a touch-up is recommended at 6-8 weeks.
Restrictions: What Not to Do During Healing
- Avoid getting brows wet (no swimming, hot tubs, or direct water contact).
- No sweating (avoid heavy exercise, steam rooms, saunas).
- No direct sun exposure or tanning beds.
- No makeup, creams, or skincare products on the brows.
- No picking, scratching, or peeling of scabs.
- No facial treatments or laser procedures near the brows.
- No hair treatments or appointments for at least two weeks.
- Avoid sleeping on your face for the first week.
Special Considerations (Compromised Immune Systems)
- Healing may take longer if you have a weakened immune system.
- Higher risk of infection; follow aftercare strictly.
- Consult your doctor if you have concerns; a physician’s note may be required.
